John's orignal prints are produced from an inked, hand cut, block. No photographic or computer equipment is involved in their making!

Message from John

All my work starts with a series of pencil drawings. I transpose a retrograde version of the final pencil design , freehand, directly onto the block. 

I print by hand to take advantage of the accidental and incidental effects consequent to this method. This ensures every pull is unique. I use only lightfast inks on high quality papers made at Saint Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset or by Arches in France.
